A RESTLESS EARTH
2019
Exhibited at Edinburgh Art Festival
Installation
Poetic letterpress printed texts, sit alongside geological specimens which act as windows into deep time scales and the vast forces which shaped the planet. Calling into question the future of the earth, during a time which sees humankind becoming the first single species to dominate the environment.
The thirteenth specimen was that of a ‘plastiglomerate’ a new hybrid of melted plastic, waste materials and geological sediment - a newly defined type of stone, in the Anthropocene era.
