Collaboration with Hudson Architects
and Broads Authority
Sustainable Material Design
I've been working with Hudson Architects on the 'Fibreboards' project, an initiative in collaboration with the Broads Authority.
Our goal has been to explore sustainable applications for paludiculture (wetland agriculture) in the Broads National Park. The result of this exploration is a new biomaterial composite made from 'Typha latifolia'—commonly known as reedmace or bulrush. By combining these natural fibres with sand, cornstarch, and water, we have developed an eco-friendly cladding tile.
A selection of these tiles were recently displayed at the Royal Norfolk Show, highlighting the potential of sustainable materials in modern design.
