Biomaterials Workshop - Norfolk & Norwich Festival and Norwich Wildlife Trust

CPD Session for Artists as part of 'Touring Tribute' Programme

Biomaterials Workshop - Norfolk & Norwich Festival and Norwich Wildlife Trust

This workshop was created in collaboration with the Norfolk & Norwich Festival and the Norfolk Wildlife Trust at Cley and Salthouse Marshes. It explored how natural materials can inspire creative practice and help us connect with the landscape.

Participants began with a guided walk around the reserve to look closely at the materials that shape the coast, including chalk, reeds, sand, flint and seaweed. They considered how these elements could be used as sustainable resources in art and design.

The session also included hands-on making with biomaterials such as bioplastics, corncrete and seaweed-based bioyarn. This gave participants the chance to experiment and discover new ways to use sustainable materials in their work.
